Cassidy was born and raised in the interior of British Columbia. After completing her LL.B (Honours) in the United Kingdom, Cassidy moved to Toronto where she worked in family law for seven years. In 2021, Cassidy relocated to Calgary to be closer to family.

Cassidy started her work in family law as a law clerk at a small boutique practice in Toronto. She continued her work as a law clerk at a large provincial firm where she subsequently completed her articles before returning as an associate lawyer following her call to the bar. Cassidy’s practice was focused predominantly on complex property and spousal support issues. Cassidy has experience at all levels of court and a strong background in written advocacy including at the appellate level.

Cassidy takes a pragmatic and compassionate approach to client matters. She works closely with clients to understand their priorities and concerns. This enables her to assist them in shaping a path to resolution which most closely aligns with their goals. Cassidy excels at helping clients understand their obligations and entitlements so that they might make informed decisions about the highly personal legal disputes that family law entails. In so doing, she seeks to empower her clients with the information and understanding necessary to achieve an efficient and satisfactory resolution to their matter.

Cassidy was called to the Ontario Bar in 2019 and the Alberta Bar in 2021. She is a Member of the Law Society of Alberta.
