Brad was born and raised in Calgary. He attended the University of Lethbridge where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts with majors in Philosophy and Economics. Following his undergraduate studies in Lethbridge, Brad returned to Calgary where he worked as a data analysist before attending the University of Calgary where he completed in legal education.
During his legal studies at the University of Calgary, Brad was a committed volunteer with the Student Legal Assistance (SLA) program where he provided free legal information and representation to on family, criminal, and civil legal matters. During the final year of his legal studies, Brad was hired to be the Student Director of SLA where he supervised and provided mentorship to the program of over 100 student volunteers.
Upon graduating with his Jurid Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2020, Brad started his career articling in family law. Brad was called to the Alberta Bar in 2021 and continues to practice exclusively in family law where he maintains a practice primarily focused on litigation. Brad has experience representing clients on matters at the Alberta Court of King’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Justice at each stage of the litigation, including trial. Brad has experience representing clients on matters including, but not limited to, high-conflict parenting disputes, decision-making, guardianship, emergency protection orders, interprovincial mobility, internation child abduction, and family property matters.
While Brad’s practice is largely litigation focused, he works diligently to deescalate conflict whenever possible and aims to provide reasonable and sensible alternatives to Court. Brad enjoys working creatively with clients to build strategies that bring about optimal life outcomes for them and their families. These strategies often include mediation and engaging multidisciplinary professionals who can offer expertise on matters such as personal finance or family therapy.
In his leisure time, Brad enjoys attending live music and sporting events, snow shoeing with his golden retriever, and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
