Emily has previous experience in real estate and wills and estates law, but truly found her passion when she began practicing family law with a boutique family law firm in downtown Calgary. She attended law school at University of Calgary and was very involved with the law school community. She volunteered with Student Legal Assistance, and was awarded the 2014 Grant McGibbon Prize. Prior to attending law school, Emily graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, worked in the book publishing industry in Toronto, and lived in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Emily is passionate about community involvement and has previously sat on the board of the Famous 5 Foundation and the Meow Foundation. She is the Chair of Law Day with the Canadian Bar Association, and an active member of the Association of Women Lawyers. Emily loves travelling and has recently taken trips to Japan, China, and New Zealand.

Emily is also a trained mediator and focuses on achieving solutions to family law conflicts in creative ways. She is dedicated to promoting positive relationships between parties to achieve effective and satisfactory resolutions.
